Welcome to xopc29.org. Once you register, you will see a link in the left sidebar that will reveal when you click on it how to use this site.
Don't be afraid to explore the links section of this site and submit your own. It takes me a little while to look at them before I approve them, so be patient.
- Please register if you wish to see more content.
- My students must register.
- You may use any user name that you wish, but give me your correct e-mail address for verification purposes and so this site can contact you. Also, a little information that might help me identify you would be great.
- Check this page for news and class announcements. You may comment on the news. Your comments will be posted after painstaking review by my editorial staff (me), so please be patient.
- I will be posting questions, discussion topics, and extending the class discussion in the forum. Click on forum to participate.
- I will be posting off-topic (but interesting?) items in the Blog: Thinking about . . . . section. Please take a look, post and comment if you wish.
- You may post your own questions and comments in the forum, you are responsible for the content.
- A link to the blog nothing in which you are participating is in the links section.
- There are other useful links under the Useful info menu item to your left. Click on Education links after that.
You can find the current temperature by looking in the left sidebar. Click on the thermometer to see the weather report.
I have posted some new links in the links section of this site. Look at all the links --there are some useful education and literacy ones.
The following brand new links are posted in the art and music part. This link goes to the Flickr photoset of Richard Sweeney. He does paper sculpture ein amazing ways. This other link leads to a searchable database of all the cool people. Strangely, I couldn't find me there.

I use this site a great deal to make (repeat) class announcements, post SOE announcements and e-mail notices, job announcements, interesting news items, helpful links, and other good things.
There is a blog (Thinking about . . . .) which we will use to extend class discussion and talk about other interesting things. There is also a forum for this purpose as well. There is a very helpful link section with links to literacy sites, content area literacy sites, student blogs, and so on.
The above features are open to registered users only. Once you register, you should feel free to add links, news, blog, and forum items. The editor of this site (I) reviews submissions and edits (for clarity sometimes), but I do not nor does this site take any responsibilty for nor endorse any viewpoints other than my own. In other words, you are responsible for your own submissions, news items, blogs, and links.
Please use the e-mail address that you use for your e-mail when you register for this site. It helps me contact you when something interesting or important comes up. You should use any user name that you are comfortable with and that is family friendly since people of all ages access this site. Please let me know what your real name is and which class you are in when you register, so you can get extra credit as a super participator.
Once you have registered, go into your user profile and add any other information you would like me to know (IM, Jabber, or Googletalk name if you have one.)
So, register, take a look around, and keep coming back. I keep a close eye on the site and update it frequently.
You can read some of the thoughts of wise people you might know when you click on Thinking about . . . . See what they have to say about hope and teaching. Then, why not add to the conversation?
I have made it easier to find entries and see who has contributed to Thinking about . . . . If you are a member of this site, you can tell the rest of us what you are thinking about.
Hey, there is a new forum. Take a look above.
